LA’s Indigenous Community Stands with Standing Rock


The California Endowment, in partnership with local community leaders and organizations, celebrated the health and resilience of Los Angeles' vibrant Native American community. 

Chrissie Castro (California Native Vote Project), Dr. Andrea Garcia (Physician) and Temryss Lane (Footballer, N7 Ambassador) describe the significance of the fight to protect water from environmental disasters. 

Raul Garcia, Executive Director of American Indian Changing Spirits Recovery Program, talks about the sacredness of water to earth and humanity.

Interviews are from a November 3, 2016 event. The program focused on civic engagement, youth empowerment, identity, and LA's indigenous past, present, and future.
